CHICAGO, July l.Jolm Lonjr, W years old, a watchman in th I-avelle Manufacturing company's factory at 9 Dayton street, waa murdered while on duty yeterlay. Two houri after Long's body had Wen dloovered on the first floor of the bulldlnjr, the police found Joseph Voelkel, aged 30, ft former em ploye of the company, lying in the rear of the factory, voelkel wa mortauy wounded, and near him lay a revolver with three chamber empty. He had a bullet hole in the right temple. Long had ln shot twice. Voelkel died last night. Long's watch and chain were found In Voelkel's pocket and the two had quanvled frequently about money matter. Voelkel and the old watchman were friend, to all appearance, but fellow mploy aaid the young man waa deep in Long"! debt and that the two quar reled frequently over money matter. Voelkel ia supposed to have gone to the factory to get more money or to continue the old arguments. What took place In the factory no one know. BLOCKADED.
