SAN FRANCISCO, June 20-The Mer
chants' Exchange has received word that
the steam schooner Santa Barbara broke
aer propeller shaft off Point Reyes yes
terday afternoon and is lying off the
point in a disabled condition. Tugs
have been sent to make repairs. The
schooner is owned by the J. R. Hanify
Company of this city and left here Sat
urday for Seattle carrying passengers
and freight.

Thomas Wagner, 19 years old, of 1090

the unfinished building and wrenched
51 brass faucets from the walls on the
fourth and fifth floors. He took no
precautions to stop the flow of water,
which soon flooded practically every
floor in the building.
All the newly kalcomined ceilings
were broken and soaked; fine frescoes
and mural decomtions were ruined and
the polished woodwork warped.
The youth was arrested and taken to
the Harlem stntion. The fifty-one fau
cets would have sold for a few dollars.
