LwHtfWWt VETERAN SOLDIER DEAD. William Lee, well known and high ly respected in this city and section, died in PortlanJ on Thursday last, from heart troubles, at the age 01 63 years. He had gone to the metropo lis from Warrenton for treatment and his malady overwhelmed him. He was living with his brother, Henry Lee. at Warreton, and that gentleman left up last night for Portland to take charge of the remain, and bring them home. The deceased was an honored mem ber of the G. A. R. and the usual hon ors will be contributed by Cushlng Post, G. A. R., at his obsequies. The funeral will transpire from the home of Henry Yee, at Warrenton, on Sun day next, and Rev. John Waters, rec tor of St. Mary's Catholic church, of this city, will officiate. There will doubtless be a large attendance at the ceremonies, and Interment will be had in the G. A. R. plat at Ocean View Cemetery. Industries, a letter was shown to a re porter of this paper yesterday after noon by President W. F. McGregor, of the Astoria Box Company, from some consignees in Chicago, In relation to a shipment of choice lumber made that company, Just fifty-nine days ago. The lumber left here on the morning of December 11, last, and upon In quiry recently made by the consignee as to Its whereabouts. It was found to be, on January 15 last, In the yards at Tacoma, and Is still there, for all anything to the contrary Is known.
