morning on Rama Singh, a Hindu,

Road Completed The new road con
necting the Tucker Creek road with the
Olney road at Young's River Falls, a
distance of three miles, was completed
yesterday by Winters Bros. This gives
a circuitous road by Lewis and Clark
to Olney and Olney to Astoria, a -distance
of twenty-five miles. The new
road Is on an easy grade, and gives
a number of farmers on Youngs River
a pood (road to the city. It will be cov
ered with crushed rock eaifly next
spring, rind will make a fine drive to
Astoria.
Road Tax Levies. : Several road dis
tricts in the county have called meet
ings for levying the annual road tax
for next venr. Jewell district and Elsie
