NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the assessment made for improving Tenth street from the South line of Commercial street to the South lineof Exchange street, as per assessment roll number 128, was made by an order of the common council due and payable on the 1st day of October, 1906, by ordin ance number 3294, confirming said as sessment roll, that the following are the names of the persons against whom NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, THAT tbe Common Council of the City of As toria baa declared its determination and intention to improve 3rd street from a point eight feet north of the center line of Exchange street to a point eight feet south of tbe center line of Grand Avenue to the width of twenty feet through the center thereof and on the established grade, Said improve ment shall consist of grading aaid street to the established grade to the width of twenty feet through the center there of, and macadamising said street to toe width of sixteen feet through the center thereof with crushed rock or macadam to tbe depth of eight inches when thor oughly rolled and with a sis inch crown in the center thereof, and said grade when the macadam is placed shall be to a depth of eight inches below the established grade. In maters of detail said improvement shall be constructed according to the plana and specifications therefor to be prepared by the City Surveyor as here inafter provided and general ordinance No. 1901 and any matter of construction and drainage found necessary to make the improvement safe or substantial shall be done by the contractor whether specified or not, without extra charge. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO REPAIR NOTICE OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TIHT theiCommon Council of the City of Astoria has declared its determination and intention to improve Franklin ave nue from a point seven feet West of the center line of Fourth ' street to a point eight feet East of the center line of Third street by grading said street to the established grade to tbe width of 20 feet through the center thereof, and macadamizing said street to the width of 16 feet through the center thereof. Said improvement shall be made by grading said street to the. width of 20 feet through the center thereof to tbe established grade and to a sub-grade of eight inches below tbe established trade to tbe width of 16 feet through tbe center thereof, with a six-inch crown in me center ana oy macadamizing and filling in said street to tbe width of 16 feet through the centei thereof with crushed rock or macadam to tbe depth of eight inches when thoroughly rolled. Said repairs shall consist of removing all tbe old street decking, from curb to curb, including the crossings, and between Ninth and Tenth streets, straightening up the stringers so as to bring tht street to the established grade, and filling in when necessary to do so, and by re planking the street on ' the existing stringers, from the East line of Ninth street to the West line of Fourteenth street with good sound yellow fir lum ber 4 inches in thickness by 12 inches la width. All old material that is suit able for use in repairing streets shall be taken away and stored by the su- verintendeat of streets as the same tej taken up by the contractor, and that which is worthies shall be removed by the contractor at his own expense and not dumped under the roadway, and the decking oa said street at the in tersection of Commercial street and Twelfth street, or from the West line to the East line of Twelfth street, shall be surfaced on three sides, slsed and well dried and upon e4 crossings when so replnnked a coating- of Elastic Cooked Asphalt to the depth of 1) inches shall be placed, and rolled with a hot Asphalt Roller, to present a smooth surface; said asphalt to be spread upon said intersection on the street decking. In matters of detail said improvement shall be constructed according to the plana and specifications therefor to be prepared by the City Surveyor as here inafter provided and general ordinance No. 1901, and any matter of construction and drainage found necessary to make tbe improvement safe or substantial ahall be done by the contractor wheth er specified or not, without extra charge. Cominenning at tbe Northwest cor ner of Lot 8, in Block 25, in that part of the City of Astoria laid out and recorded by John McClure, and extend ed by Cyrus Olney, and running thence East through tbe middle of Blocks 25, 69, 68 and 57, in Mcdure'a Astoria, and tract "A of McClure's Astoria aa laid out smd recorded by the Astoria Real Estate & Exchange Company, to the Northeast corner of Lot 5, in said tract "A," and running thence South along the East line of said Tract "A" and also the East line of Block 136 in that part of the City of Astoria laid out and recorded by John M. Sliively to the Southeast corner of said Block 136 in said Shively'a Astoria, and thence running Wet along the South line of said Block 130 to the Southwest conifer j thereof, and thence running North along the West line of said Block 130 to a point where the West line of aaid Block 136 would be interacted by the South line of Lot 4 in Block 62, in that part of the City of Astoria laid out and recorded by John McClure and extended by Cyrus Olney, if extended East on a straight line, and running thence West through the middle of Block 62. 61, 60 and 26 in McClure's Astoria to the Southwest corner of Lot One (1) in Block 26, and thence running North along the East line of Ninth street to the place of beginning, and containing all lots, lands and premises within the said above described district, which in cludes all lands, Iota and premises ben' efltted by said improvement or repairs.
