9th street to a point eight feet west

the Common Council of the CHv
Astoria has declared its determination
aud intention to improve the intersec
tion or crossing of Bond street and 6th
street. Said improvement shall be made
by grading aaid crossing to the estab
liahed grade and outside of the sidewalk
area to 12 ineehs below the established
gmde, a construction of sidewalk cor
tiers, the sidewalk corners on the east
side to be cement and on the west side
wooden corners, and the street shall be
filled in and macadamized to the depth
of 12 inche with crushed rock when
thoroughly rolled and the portion of the
crossing occupied by the track of the
Astoria Electric Co.' street enr tract
and one foot on each side of the rails
thereof shall be macadamized by it at
the same time. In matter of detail
said improvement shall be constructed
according to the plans and specifications
therefor to be prepared by the City
Surveyor as heheinafter provided and
general ordinance No. 1901 and any
matter of consrruction and drainage
found necessary to make the improve
ment safe or substantial shall be dono
by the contractor whether specified or
not, without extra charge.
That the cost and expenses of con

defrayed by special assessment upon the
lots, land and premises benefitted by the
snme which said lots, lands and premises
are included in the special assessment
district including all lots, lands and pre

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, THAT
the Common Council of the city of
Astoria has declared its determination
and intention to repair Commercial
street from the East line of Ninth atreet
to the West line of Fourteenth street.
Ssid repair ahall consist of removing
all the old street decking from curb to
curb including the crossings and be
tween Ninth and Tenth street straight
ening up the stranger so as to bring
the street to the established grade and
fillings in where necessary to do so,
and by replannig the street on the
existing stringers from the East line of
Ninth street to the West line of Four
teenth street with good sound yellow fir
lumber 4 inches in thickness by 1
inches in width.
All old material that is suitable for
use in repairing street shall be taken
away and stored by the Superintendent
of streets as the same is taken up by
the contractor and that which is worth
less shall be removed by the contractor
at his own expense and not dumped
under the roadway.
In matters of detail said improvement
shall be constructed according to the
plans and specification therefor to be
prepared by the City Surveyor as here
inafter provided find general ordinance
No. 1901 and any matter of construc
tion and drainage found necessary to
make the improvement safe or substan
tial shall be done by the contractor
whether specified or not, without extra
charge.
That the costs and expenses of con
structing said improvement shall be
defrayed by special assessment upon the
lots, lands and premises benefitted by
the same which aaid lots, lands and
premises are included in the special
assessment district including all lots,
lands and uremise so benefitted to-
wit: Commencing at the northwest
corner of lot 8 in block 25 in that part
of the city of Astoria laid out and re
corded by John McClure and extended
by Cyrus Olney, and running thence
East through the middle of block 25.

Astoria: That said Council hereby de

to repair the drain in McClure' Astoria
known as MeClure's Drain No. 1. from
a point ten feet east of the west line
of 9th street to a point 100 feet weat
of the west line of 9th street Said
repairs shall be made by taking up the
old drain and placing in new tiling
where the same are broken and replac
ing the rock and refilling the excavation
after the drain is repaired.

be prepared by the City Surveyor and

age found necessary to make the im
