The accompanying elevation and floor plant show a very attractive and nicely arranged home designed espe cially for narrow lots. There la a stone cellar under the en tire house, the floor of which ta ce mented. The cellar contalus cold room, coal bins and a modem steam boiler. The frame of the house Is of spruce and hemlock mortised and tenoned to- rBOST KLIVATION. getber. The walla are sheathed, cor red with two ply building paper, white pine beveled aiding and cypress shingles. The roof is of heavy dimen sion cypress shingles covered with two brash costs of stains. The plazxs columns are turned from yellow pine, finished in the natural wood, with composition caps to match. The ornamental exterior work is of composition. The exterior Is painted with two coats of white lead and linseed oil FIEST FLOOR FLAX. paints of any colors. The shingles are dipped H shingle stain before being laid. The interior walls are plastered with two coats of patent plaster, scratch and brown coat, which con tains white sand, troweled out smooth for tinting in various shades with cold water. All the rooms have fancy pa per borders to match the tinting. The house contains combination electric light and gas fixtures. The windows are fitted with inside cypress sliding blinds. The side walls of the bath room are tiled four feet high, with a heavy molded cap. The bathroom has a medicine closet, with mirrors in the door, built in the wall over the wash basin. The pantry off the dining room Is fitted up thoroughly. This house can be built, , with two targe rooms in the attic, for $2,500 in localities where prices of material and labor are normal. Hender son, spent most of his life on the bat tlefield and In congress, but a portion of It was devoted to a willingness te practice law.
