fact that under the terms of the Meat
Inspection Act, approved June 30, 1000,
no pertton, firm or corporation shall, on
and after October 1, 1900, transport or
offer for transportation and no carrier
of interstate or foreign commerce shnll
transport, or receive for transportation
from one State or Territory, or the Dis
trict of Columbia, to another State or
Territory or the District of Columbia, or
to any place under the jurisdiction of

accordance with' the terms of the law,
and with the rules and regulations 'pre
sented by the Secretary of Agriculture.
An examination may be' made, by the
Secretary of Agriculture of retail butch
ers and retail dealers in meat and meat
food productsi supplying their customers
through the medium of interstate or
foreign commerce. The above provis
ion of law necessitates either the es
tablishment of inspection or a notice of
exemption by the Department of Agri
culture, on or before October 1, 1900,
for all persons who expect to offer meat
or meat food products for transporta
tion in interstate or foreign commerce

feet east of the eat line of Kingston
avenue to a point 118 feet west of the
