Sold by Frank Hart There seems to be an impression in Washington that the Argentine Pink Book sometimes colors things too high- The Last IO TO HELP THE HELPERS. Notable Department in Organic Work in Behalf of Children. On Friday the 27 day of April there was organized in this city an advisory board of the Boy's and (lids' Aid So ciety, of Oregon, for Clatsop county consisting of the following inenilierM. Dr. A. A. Finch, president Mrs V. Barker, secretary and treas urer Judge C. .1. Trcnchard. Mrs. C. A. Gearhart. Mi K. C. Warren. This Ixnird will pass on all applica tions from Clatsop county for the nd mission of children It will keep in touch with children placed in homes, and will report eases of abuse, neglect or other forms of delimnieney which may come to the notice of its members. But it will in no wise interfere with the rights and duties of the County Judge. Since 1000 the Boys' and Girls' Aid Society has received from this county thirty-three (33) children. At present ther nre only two wards of the society in the county. The society is not a state institu tion, but a charitable, non-sectarian, organization, duly incorporated under the laws of Oregon, and having for it object the saving of homeless, neglect ed, or abused children of the entire state. Since its organization, twenty one years ago, nearly 3.000 such chil dren were received. The report for the last year shows 40$ received and 407 disposed of. The yearly expenses are now about $10,000 of which .$4,000 is paid by the state, the remaining $0,000 by donations membership fees, contributions from Clackamas, Wasco, Yamhill, Multnomah, Linn and Benton counties, and Thanks giving donations from public schools, consisting of cosh, clothing books fruit vegetables, etc. The Clatsop county board consists of representative men and women, and the homeless and abused children will receive proper care and attention, and it is hoped that many new homes will be found in the future. It has caused more laughs and dried more tears, wiped away disease and driven away more fears than any other medicine in the world.
