WILL USE PAPER CURRENCY
Castro Plans to Substitute Paper Money
for General Circulation in Place
of Gold, Which is too
Bulky.
NEW YORK, April 27.- The Tribune
today savs:
The government of Venezuela is to
establish a national hank and subti-
tute a paper currency for the gold lia
si on which the country has been oper
ating. It was learned yesterday that
among the minions with which .1. Tor-1
re Cardenas secretary general of Ven
ezuela and Manuel Curao, who arrived
here from Caracas, Monday, are charged
is the negotiation for the national bank
contemplated by President Castro.
Heretofore the Banco de Venezuela in
Caracas has been the national deposi
tory and fiscal agent for the govern
ment. The bank issued paper money
for use only in the commercial centers
Caracas, Iji Guayra and Puerto ('la
Ix'Ho while the Banco de Mnracaiho
did the same for the convenience of the
business people of the city. The is
nuance of bank notes was because of
the little use made in Venezuela of
cheek books ami the difficulty of hand
ling gold in large sums. But the plan
of Castro U to establish a paper cur
rency for general circulation.
Senor Corao will try to interest lo
cal bankers in the scheme for a nation
al bank. Seven years ago President
Andrade made a similar effort to estab
lish a national bank, but the plan fell
through.

William M. Spayd, living on Winter
street, southeast comer of I). Street,
Salem Oregon, says: "It is just about
three years since I recommended Doan's
Kidney Pills through our local papers.
I said that words could not express my
good opinion of Doan's Kidney Pills or
describe the remarkable effects they had
on me. My kidneys had been a source
of annoyance to me for a number of
years and I suffered severely from back
ache and pain across my loins. I could
not go out and split a piece of kind
ling wood without my back paining me.
The kidney secretions were irregular
and my rest at nights was disturbed
on account of their frequency and
there was a scalding pain in passage.
I was advised to try Donn's Kidney
Pills, and procured a supply. By the
time I had used a little over one box I
was entirely free from the backache
and the action of the kidney secretions
was regulated ho that I could rest the
whole night without bein." disturbed.
My kidneys were toned up and strength
ened and my health was improved in
Avery wuy. Thfrec hopes of Doan's
Kidney Pills made me feel like a new
man. I am always glad to express my
gratitude for what they did for me."
