The steamship Roanoke arrived down from Portland at 11 o'clock yesterday morning, in charge of Captain Pope of the river pilot' association. She had a good manifest of California freight and left out on the afternoon flood, for San Francisco and l.os Angele. The steamer Alliance arrived in from Kiireka and Coos Ray point- at noon yesterday, with a good bunch of icople and freight, and alter hour's stay at the Cullender pier left up for the metro polk The American ship St. Xicholas was shifted from the F.lniore bunkers to the Kinney Cannery dock yesterday morn ing. She will load there for the far north and will probably get away by the loth of the coming month, for her Alaska destination. Regining tomorrow, April 1st, the offi cers of the Kamm line steamers will don the new and handsome uniform ordained for the service. The Lurline left up last night on ber schedule for Portland, with the follow ing people 011 her register: Dr. W. C. Burr, V. ". Melrvine. D. B. Rosenberg and T. 1). Dinghnn. The three masted schooner John A.. from San Francisco, sailed in over the Columbia liar yesterday, and sailed up to the Clatsop Mill docks where she will load lumber for hep outward cargo. Her master always sails her into this port She has not been here for some time. The French bark Francoise d'Ambroise from Sun Francisco, under command of Captain Reusser, one of the youngest masters to enter this port in years, came in over the bar yesterday morning, and is now awaiting towage to Portland. She is of lO.'IO ton and a tine vessel. Pilot Commissioner now has the State pilot schooner San Jose in prime rendi npss for duty off the bar, so if anything occurs whereby the Pulitzer lias need of harborage, the San Jose can take her place at a moment's notice.
