It is an ojitu and ,-eriou- ijuostion with the Republican party in Clatsop county as to what shall be done to re deem the status of the organization here and put it where its actual major ity pre-suppo-es it to be, iu lull con trol of the county. It is up to the last Republican in the fold to determine th issue of the distraught condition; in which the party finds it-ell: no man who stands of record as a Republican can escape his .-hare of the re-ponibiL ity, not only for th'.- lapse and laches of the party, hut for its rehabilitation as well. The prim.' and positive obli gation it is under to send a strong Re publican delegation to the legi-laturc this whit r to support the -election of a United States senator is -o impera tive, that he who fail in his duty to Lis party at this time, i- branded un equivocally, and forever, ;is a renegade pure and simple. The hold-over -ena-tors in the coining loi-latnie will vote for the -ucce-sor of Charles W Fulton and the -upieme question to be de cided this y-ar and in this campaign, i whether or not the splendid dignity of that office and the forceful pre-tige he has attained in it. -hall be ca-t aside and lost to the county and the state. The man who is so pitifully small that he can not untangle the web of local jealousies with one wide sweep of the honest hand of true partisanship, who shall fail to lend his word and influence in wiping out the -.core of narrower prejudices for the larger good of the party and state, who i- so supine, re arieted and barren that he cannot thrust the past and all it stand- for. into oblivion, and give the party, in its moment of critical need, the stalwart, steady and unwavering faith and func tion of an honest partisan, is of the sort, primarily, to stand by and see the destruction and dissolution of all its hopes and history in this country. Oh. yes, it is strictly up to the Republi cans of Clatsop county, and this is the time for full and final deci-ion: As they shall think and act and ordain, so shall the result be for the success or the rout of Republicanism in the far north west of the continent. Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Com pound was prepared to meet the needs of woman's system at this trying period of her life. It invigorates aml strengthens the female organism and builds up the weakened nervous system. For special advice regarding this im portant period women are invited to write to Mrs. I'inkhain at Lyun, Mass., and it will be furnished absolutely free of charge. The present Mrs I'inkhain is the daughter-in-law of Lydia E. Pink ham, her assistant before her decea.se, and for twenty-five vears since her advice has been freely given to sick women.
