May Come to Astoria. It would not
be in the least surprising should the
Northern Pacific railroad construct it's
warehouse and grain elevators in thi
city. Indication are thnt such i the
intention of that company, and a a
starter in thi work, the company will
build a bridge neros the Columbia
river probably in the vicinity of St.
Helen. It is learned that an agent of
the railroad has lmndcd over one hun
dred mre of land at Caples on the
Washington side of the river, opposite
St. lb-lens, and huge tracts of hind on
the Oregon side have also been taken
up, in the expectation of putting in the
bridge at this point. When this bridge
i finished, th,' road will undoubtedly
run it's enormous fu-ight shipments
bound for the Orient, into Astoria,
where the ship will Ik1 loaded. North
ern I'acilic official are anxious to enter
Astoria and make this point the main
terminal for th' ir grain and freight ex

able advantage over I'm lland, situated

of water frontage. 'Ihe entrance of the

PARTICULAR PEOPLE.
The world is full of particular people,
and the most exacting of them all, are
those who are particular about what
they eat, where they eat it and what
they pay for it, as well as the service
accompanying the meals. It is the the
rule in Astoria, whenever one of these
people inquire for the best, all-round
restaurant in the city, to promptly refer
them to the Palace Catering Company,
on Commercial street, just opposite the
rage building. Once they patronize the
rnlac, their worries and their questions
are at an end. Banquetting and party
service is complete in every detail of
luxurious appliance and menu.
LEST YOU FORGET.
Is it not about time you were getting
