Through the efforts of Maynr Yin, Astoria now has a gatherer of tin cans and old rubbih, in the person of Xels Jensen, of Smith's Point. This is in line with the work which the various improvement dubs throughout the city, are doing, and is an idea which is bound to take. According to the plan, Mr. Jensen is to receive a nominal price per month from each property owner who desires to have the refuse accumulating on his premise., removed. The sum will be cither ."ill cents nra dollar a month, and by paying Mr. Jensen this amount, he will agree to remove all rubbish from the property, the owner having first collected it and placed it in a convenient spot where it can be removed. This new arrangement is one that should be gladly accepted by every projierty own cr. In the past there has been no means whereby any refuse might be gotten rid of and people have usually disposed of it either by dumping it into some va cant lot near by or throwing it on a neighbor's premises. All Atorians who are in favor of keeping their yards clean are requested to communicate with Mr. Jensen or with the secretary of the improvement club in their dis trict, who will inform Mr. Jensen.
