That the county judge and clerk be
and are authorized to have specific
lions made to accompany the. plant now
before the court, on Uie coo struct km of
the Hume mills road, and that notice
be given calling for bids for the con
e( ruction of said road over the route
already surveyed, and also over the
same route, from Ash street instead
of from Birch, street, all bids in this
behalf to be filed on or before 4 o'clock
p. ul, on Tuesday, January 2, 1900.

That the county clerk publish call!
for bids for the furnishing of material
and laving 300 rods of puncheon road
between the place of A. MeKay and X.
Anderson; said bids to be filed on or
before January 3, 1000.
The county road master having re
ported favorably upon the claim here
tofore filed by R. A. Abbott, the clerk
was directed to issue and deliver war
rant in payment thereof. -
It was ordered that necessary lan
terns be purchased and placed in ser
vice upon the Young's River bridge.
The court then adjourned.
Marriage License.
County Clerk Clinton yesterday issu
ed marriage licenses in favor of the fol
lowing young people of Clatsop Coun
ty: Mr. Kinil Hedmsn and Mis Marie
Petersen: and Mr. Christ lister and
Miss Mry Blakken.

was turned over to Sheriff Linville for

Trenchard to the Oregon asylum for the
insane, NeWn has long intervals of
sanity but when he lap, become very
dangerous ami vk-ious. He was duly
committed yesterday and only awaits
transportation to Salem in custody of
asylum officers, who have . been dee
patched for him. Nelson waa committed
to the asylum on January 7, 19tt2, and
again on April 7, of the same year, and
it is probable be will be confined and
treated for sotn time under the preaeut
commitment aa ..his eae, need clone
and prolonged attention. Normally he
is a quiet, inoffensive, hardworking
citizen, married, and maintaining his
family correctly, but his attacks are so
sudden and violent aa to preclude much
further dallying with his awful malady.
The guards from the asylum are ex
pected here today to remove hiiu.

of the late Mayor Suprenant's demise

on Birch street, on the recommendation

elected Mayor of the city of Astoria.

proper resolution in memory of the
late Mayor Suprenant, was carried ami
