Reform Wins in Philadelphia. Philadelphia, Xov. ?. Philadelphia was swept by the reform movement the city party ticket winning by a stir uriingly large! plurklitv. While the return from only six out of the forty two wards had been counted up to midnight, enough is known of the rvsult in the remaining wards to indicate the defeat of the Republican ticket, from 60,000 to 70,000 plurality. The result gives evt-ry indication of a landslide lor rejorm, not only in Philadelphia, but throughout the state The Republican leaders are non com mittal while the city party sympathii era are celebrating their victory to night by parading the principal streets. The usual turnout was that of the cam palgn committee of the city patty made up of the wealthiest and most influen tial people in the city. They marched behind a band to the tune of "Onward Christian Soldiers." Herrick la Elected. Columbus, Nov. 7. The State Jour naj has estimated the plurality from sixty-three of the eighty conr-tie in the state, showing the ne plurlr'.yt f r Ilerfkk, Republican, for Governor to U 820. At midnight, Chairman Dick gave out a statement, saying indication clearly point to the re-election of Governor Herrick and the entire Republican state ticket, by a safe plurality. Pluralities in Doubt. Columbus, Nov. 1. Cox Ready to Quit. Cincinnati, Xov. 7. George. B. Cox, the well nown Republican leader, to night gave out a so-called pre slate- ment, in which he declares that after twenty-five year service he has with drawn from politics. He adds that he intends to continue to vole the Repub lican ticket. Cox Admits Defeat. Cincinnati, Xov. 7. J:10 p. in. Geo. B. Cox says Pattison, (Dem.), is elect ed Covernor by 60,000 plurality. Chicago Goes Republican. Chicago, Nov. 7. Republicans made a clean sweep in the election at Chicago and Cook County today, electing all candidate with the exception of one man. The sole Democrat to reach the promised land was Webb, candidate for trustee of the Sanitary 'district.
