MeMananna, who is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, will be brought to trial thia morning. RAINFALL BREAKS RECORD. The greatest rainfall that has fallen since record have been kept here, fell a Astoria during the month of Sep tember. The fall having been 7.38 inch es, the nearest approach to this having been in 18H when it w as 6.23 inches, while during the same month lat year it waa but M of an inch. The rain fall at North Head weather station is us ually greater than in Astoria, but the rainfall there last month was 5.62 inch es. The maximum temperature in As toria during the month was 84 on the firt ami the minimum was 45 on the 20th.
