FEW LAMBS FOR SALE.
uyrrs from Middle West Fsil to Find
Many "Stockera."
rndleton, Or., Aug. 13. For several
week past sheep-buyers hsve been in
thi county for the purpose of purchas
ing lambs and yearling for the Winter
ranges of the Middle West, but so far
they all state that growers refuse to
discus price with them. Consequently,
while few sales have been msde, the
most of the buyer have failed to secure
what they want The deadlock I said
to be due to the fact that thero are not
many saleable sheep in the county, as
most of the stockmen sold rather low
last fall. There . is also considerable
local demand for sheep, and in view of
the price growers do not feel in any
haste to sell. While there have been so
few sale that prices have hardly been
established, it is. said that lambs have
been bringing from 1.73 to fa per
head.
