Imperial bank. one. of the institution
conducted bv Louis Gourdain. and John
II. Dalton, now under indictment for
operating a lottery. The search war
rant were issued by Judge Betliea on
the complaint of Inspector Keteliam of
the pot -office department.

art entered the bank armed with a war
rant, and proceeded to confiscate every
thing in the shape of book, papers',
literature, ticketa and ouch other arti
cles a were thought necessary to be
used in evidence A wagon backed up
to the door and the "bank" was trans
ferred to the post-office store bouse.
The federal search warrant called for
"all article of literature, ticket, pa
pers, book, 'etc., and labeled or belong
ing to the Louisiana banking company.

Hanged Near Fusan, Korea.
San Francisco, July 12. A story of
wholesale execution at the little village
of Tai Kiu, a hundred mile inland from
Fuiart Korea, was brought to San
Francisco Monday by the Kcv. E. F.
McFarlahd.. a missionary who crime
home on the steamer Korea. In less
than a week sixty men, charged with
being bandit and cut throat were
hanged by order of the Japanese gov
ernment. A party of Korean soldier
were' the executioners.
For many month a band of outlaws
had bean robbing and murdering in the
country surrounding Tai Kiu. The sit
uation became so serious that the Jap
anese instructed the extermination of
tlie offender.. The commission was in
structed to a detachment of Korean
Warrior w ho t caught the men and
hanged them.
