The petals are very large, ana tneir tirleht coloring is Intensified by slight white spots, often accompanied by a median line of the same color on tne inferior and lateral divisions. These latter are larger and not so spreading aa in G. nancelanus. Gladiolus Drincens does not bloom un til Ansnst and September, in this re spect resembling O. cruentus-tnnt is to sav.
