early summer bride to add to her trous
seaus Handmade underwear is always
tl daintiest, therefore the most ex

pieces of lingerie may be added if the
irfde elect Is clever with her needle.
Regulation bridal sets contain three
jleces, and an extra shirt petticoat Is

The new gowns are made In chemise

with Tery short or elbow length sleeves.

shaded ribbou made full and fluffy
about the crown are simple to make
and very becoiuiug.
Blouse waists this summer are not
the floppy shapeless garmeuts they
were last season. To be smart they
must fit perfectly. The well fitting
waist has no side seams, but the under
arm seam Is curved to the figure, and
the shoulder line curves toward the
back. There Is. of course, no "droop"
at tne waist line, and the nlalts run
from shoulder to belt. The sleeves are
rather large all the way down, and the
cuff, if cuff there be. is deeD or the
sleeve Is put into a band.
The summer girl will be beribboned
to her heart's content For her dressy
white frock she may have several seta
of tiuy ribbon rose wreaths In empire
designs with which to adorn both
skirt and waist. She may also wear
with the same creation a rose boa i
made of soft satin ribbon manipulated I
into roses and sewn thicklv on a foun-1
dation of plaited chiffon. The boa Is
about half a yard long and finishes
with long end of plaited chiffon.
The pretty hat shown in the cut Is
of burnt straw. It turns ud nbruntlv
at the back, where It Is filled in with i
loops of black velvet ribbon and
Gloire de Dijon roses. These roses, to
gether with two soft wings of pale
yellow, form a triuimlne nbout the
crown. Under the brim near the edge

GOWN GOSSIP.
Many of the small turbans are devel
oped in lljwel'S.
There is one thing to suv for this
year's hats-they have the charm of
lutluite .variety.
White orgaudle Is nuioug the most
fashlouable of thin materials. This airy
fabric Is probably the best ever made
for youthful eveulug gowus.
Most beautiful of the Inexpensive lln
gerle waists are those of embroidered
batiste trimmed with lace. These nr
so sheer and thin that they are usually
made over a silk slip.
