A $40,000 Odd Fellows' building was
recently dedicated In Detroit Mich., by
Eagle lodge of that city.
The Talisman estimates the member
ship of Indiana at 66,400, a net gain
during 1904 or 2,650.
At the Odd Fellows' Orphans' home
at Goldsboro, N. C, a paper is publish
ed by the Inmates In the Interest of the
order.
A new lodge has been Instituted at
Manltou, making the two hundred and
first lodge In Oklahoma and making
the total membership In the territory
about 11,000.
Obtaining new members Is the east
est part of the routine. Keeping them
Is what shows the true success of a
lodge.

Henry K. Simpson, recently elected
grand high priest of the grand chap
ter, K. A. M.. of the District of Colnm
bla, has long been actively Identified
with the Masonic fraternity. He was
made a Mason in 1870 and was master
of his lodge In 1S87. He received the
capitular degrees In Eureka chapter lu
1882, was knighted In Washington
Baatevsi Star.
The grand secretary's latest rannM
shows forty-five chapters and forty
two grand chapters under the Jurisdic
tion of the general grand chanter, be
sides three independent graud chapter
New York, New Jersey and Washing
ton. The combined membership of all
these bodies la 304,070.
In Ottawa. Kan., the Eastern Rtar
has a relief committee which is nr
pared to extend relief to needy mem
bers of the order aud to needy Ma
sons. A Chicago chapter proposes to popu
larlse Its meetings by serving Ice
cream and cake or other light refresh'
