entered Into with the Columbia Con
tract company and John Sweeney for
delivery of stone at the Columhia
river Jetty. The contracts bear the ap
proval of the war department, and the
respective contracting firms will now
be busy delivering he material until
about November. The Columbia Coitr
tract Company will . furnish 450.000
tons. If the season continues fair,
consirerable work will be done on the
Jetty this season.
