Walla Walla Farmer Sella 45,000 Bushels for $35,695.35. "Walla Walla, Nov. 15. The largest check ever Issued In this county for the sale of wheat was drawn by the Puget Sound Warehouse company to George' Drumheller to the amount of 135,695.35 for approximately 45,000 bushels of wheat produced from about 1,700 acres of land near Touchet, Wash, averaging 28 bushels an acre. JJr. Drumheller this year had nearly $0,000 bushels of wheat, and expected to produce 100,000, but his Franklin county land did not yield as heavily as he expected. He farms 10,000 acres, 5, 009 each year In different parts of this county. He Is probably the largest wheat grower In the county who grows his wheat on land owned by one com pany. This year he has sold his crop in four lots, receiving from 68 cents to SI cents, averaging the season through at 75 cents a bushel. In July, when grain was at the low mark, he disposed of 20,000 bushels to pay har vesting expenses alone, but next year hopes to dispose of his crop all at one time. JUMPED FIVE STORIES. ' WORTH' MILLIONS But Could Not Buy Bread. Goes the Story. -So LIKE THE MAN AT KLONDIKE, WHO DIED OF STARVATION, WITH HIS HUT FULL OF GOLD. Many Die Yearly, With Meant of Sal Vation at Hand, Were They But Able to Use Them. Physicians the world over have known of and believed in the virtues of cod liver oil. They have, alas! al so realised Its drawbacks and the Im possibility of administering It where It would do good. Doctors have seen hundreds of people die of consumption and other wasting diseases, whom they knew might have been saved had they only been able to take enough cod liver oil to obtain from it a suffl clent amount of the medicinal prin ciple which It contained. It is not necessary to go to doctors to know why cod liver oil has not been a popular remedy, or to realise how few people are able to take enough of it to do them any good. The many who have needed and attempted to take this nauseating remedy, if they are still In a position where they need cod liver oil, are the ones who should throw their hats In the air and ahout their joy from the house-top at the news which comes to us of Vlnol. These are the people who will never forget the name of this new remedy, nor will they ever cease to thank Mr. Rogers, our prominent druggist, who has become famous In the past few days, on account of his connection with the Boston firm who have intro duced this same remedy. How simple It all sounds, now that we know of It Here Mr. Rogers has, right In his store, a preparation that looks like and tastes like delicious wine. It Is a delicious wine, only there has been added to It this ex tract of cod's liver, this peculiar spec ial extract of the curative principles. the means of obtaining which Is the only discovery about Vlnol. We do not believe there Is an Invalid In this city suffering from throat, lung or bronchial troubles, or In fact any wasting disease, but has already In terested himself In this preparation. Mr. Rogers Is kept busy explaining Its merits and telling bis many friends how It is now possible to take all that Is necessary of cod liver oil, or Vlnol. Its concentrated active medicinal prin ciples, to overcome disease. It has not been a difficult matter for him to explain, as be has done, the absolute uselessness of the grease Itself and to demonstrate the great value of the medicinal properties of the liver of the cod. It has not been necessary for him to tell sufferers from such troubles that fat does not make fat, but simply upsets and disarranges the stomach. There are many people right here In our city who know from but a few day's experience how much benefit they are deriving from this prepara tion, and who have already learned that the medicinal properties of Vlnol act in a most wonderful manner In checking the symptoms of disease, while at the same time enabling the stomach to assimilate and digest from palatable, every-day food, the nec essary nourishment to renew tissue depleted by disease. Mr. Rogers Is Justly pleased at the success that will attend the connection he has made with the prominent Bos ton firm who are putting up this prep aration, and Justly deserves all the fame and profit that will attach them selves to his name, on account of his enterprise In Introducing Vlnol to our city.
