The complaint recites the make-up
of the brotherhood and admits that one
of the means of increasing wages, re
ducing hours of work and preventing
the employment of non-union men is
to strike, "to-wit, tor the members of
ths body or bodies peacefully o ab
stain from work until their demands

The complaint recites the execution
of the arbitration agreement by which
an arbitration board was organised and
the unions agreed not to strike, while
the members of the Building Trades
Employers' Association agreed not to
lockout their employes until disputes
had been brought before the board.
The complaint then states than on
or about August s, 1904, while tne
agreement was In force, the employers'.

of the brotherhood.

The Hon. J. Bruce Polwonh, of the
precluct of tthlamet, In, vthe county
of Wahkiakum, state of Washington,
has, according to ,' reports from the
aforesaid precinct, been elected attor
ney of the county above-named. The
Hon. J. Bruce Pol worth Is a democrat
of the old school, but, as there were no
republican attorneys In the county, he
was selected as tha nominee of the Q.
a P. in opposition to J. CV McFadden,
the particular friend of the Hon.
Michael Gorman, democratic leader.
. Over in Wahkiakum county the peo
pie voted for presidential, stats and
county candidates. Ths governorship
flght was warm, and the presidential
contest aroused great Interest, but the
people were particularly anxious about
the attorneyship. It was a personal
matter. Mr. Polworth bolted Ma Gor
man's domination of ths ' demoaracy
and went into the' camp of the enemy.
He retained the privilege of voting for

democratic candidates for state. offices
and also the privilege of voting for
Judge Parker, but locally he was
tornlnst his erstwhile friend Michael.

Bruce, while Bruce was Just as sure be

of Mr. Polworth by a majority of 75.

The precincts which are reported by
S. 0. Williams, secretary- of the county
republican committee, are CathlSmet,
Puget Island. Bkamokawa and Brook
field. These places give Mr. Polworth
t4 majority over Mr. McFadden; and
It is expected that the missing'' pre
cincts will increase the lead to IS.-
The four precincts reporting give
Roosevelt 319 and Parker 87. The vote
for gubernatorial candidates Is: Meud.
