Washington, Oct. 22. A report la
sued by the Inter-state commerce
commission shows that the number of
casualties of railroads In the United
Htutea during the fiscal year ending
June 30, 1904, waa 65,130 Injured.
This ahowa a large increase. The
total number of colllslona and derail
ment! waa 11,201, Involving $,S8I,
077 of damage to cara, englnea and
roadway. Thla la an Increase of 141
colllslona and derailments.
The casuiiltlce were an Increase of
21 killed und of 5,36 Injured over
(he prevloua year. Four hundred
and twenty of theae kilted were
passengers; and 3,876 railroad em
ployees; and of those 'Injured 8,077
were passengers and 43,26 . railroad
