Bankers Have Full Confidence in His Integrity of Purpose. , New York. Sept. 17. Frank B. Schenek. president of the Mercantile National bank. Manhattan. In an In terview today said: "I have full confidence In Mr. Roose velt's Integrity of purpose and deter mination to do what Is patriotic and wise. His selection of advlBers in the cabinet has Indicated his determination to conduct the affairs of the govern ment on the highest plane. The selec tion of his secretaries of the treasury has been wise and the banking com munity will have no need to fear any unsound monetary conditions from Mr. Roosevelt's administration. On the other hand, while the democratic can didate appears to be an estimable gen tleman, I fear the men who would come Into power with him." William L. Moyer, president of the Shoe and Leather National bank, Man hattan, asserts that the reported hos tile feeling in Wall street against Pres ident Roosevelt Is very "much over drawn. He says: "While some financiers may not fa vor President Roosevelt personally, 1 believe they will vote for him because of the principle he represents. On the other hand, many financiers admire President Roosevelt for the earnest, honest American that he Is. They think that It was one of the best acts of the administration to curb the ten dency to form great combinations. President Roosevelt's return to office would mean the settlement of the money question. Judge Parker's tel egram does not change the attitude of the democratic party, for It was the Individual act of a man." PEDDLERS AGAINST IT. Say Half Dollar Day for Push Carts la Too Much., New York, Sept 17. Trouble Is again brewing among the push eart peddlers of the' east side who claim that they are being victimized by a recently formal combination of sta blemen. The latter term Is applied to owners of push carts who rent them out at a fixed dally rate and maintain, un derneath tenement houses, storage places for the carts where they are kept at night Sixty-seven stablemen, each owning from 200 to 350 carts, have organized and according to the peddlers, have ad vanced rates from 10 to 20 cents a day. The peddlers declare they could make little profit at the . old rate and as they have no place to lieep carts, are still compelled to pay the higher rates or quit. They are planning to ask the city authorities for a public place where they may maintain stables of their own. Montana Delegates Named. . Butte, Mont, Sept 17.
