While the amount of bituminous matter observed here was small, It Is an indication of tne mineral wealth of the region. The letter concludes as follows: "It Is well worth while that the whole region of the coast range north of Itogue river be examined critically by un oil and gas expert, al though as far uS known at present there I not sufficient ground for great expectations."
