Satur- day night Sheriff Ltnvllle received a telephone message from Portland to the effect that a warrant for the ar rest of Captain Louis M. Rose had been Issued there, and that the sheriff would be requested to serve It The vessel i'aa expected down the river Saturday night, but she did not get down until Sunday morning. She proceeded at once to the mouth of the river, where she was lying at anchor when Deputy Sheriff Binder, accompanied by the lawyer representing the Portland par ties, sought to make service. Captain Rose's wife had been at a Portland sanitarium for treatment, and the medical Institution had a claim against him for $249.20. The warrant Issued for the arrest of the master charged him with being an absconding debtor. Just why the warrant was not Sunday for San Pedro, took S0S,95( feet of lumber and (4.400 lath. A four-masted schooner, supposed to be the William F. Wltsemann, arrived last evening. The Vosburg departed Sunday for Tillamook and Nehalem. She will bring back a raft of logs.
