Country Show General Revival in
all Lines Due to Weather.

ness which bids fair to exceed the
usual May volume. This is peculiarly
o of clothing in the northwest, which
hows results ahead of 1903. In sec
tions where low temperature continues,
dry gods are quiet, with a notable fall
ing off of 'filling in" orders usual at
this seaaoi. .Spring Is still a month
behind In some regions, although re
ports from many centers indicate gen
eral Improvement over a week ago.
Chicago reports some decline In build
ing operations, due largely to high
prices for materials and di;culty In se
curing supplies. Outlooks In other dis
h-Jets are satisfactory with collections
ejel)ent and most' branches of hard-'
ware showing deelded Improvement.
Jobbers report good fall orders and
aiTNe Increase in spring business. In

tation, accounts fors the better results.

to a hospital, where it was found her
weak and emaciated condition w;is the
result of a fast lasting for more than
20 days. Miss Ruesse lived alone m a
handsome house and Is regarded as
wealthy. The police assert that re
cently she Joined a new cult and that
she almost starved todeath In trying
to follow Its teachings, chief of which
is said to be that only a few grain
of wheat, pure water, are necessary to
sustain life. She may recover.
