Over-production has dulled the edge of the East ern market nnd added to this, is the fact that eastern white pine dealers have lowered the price of their goods in order to shut out the superior pro duct of this coast; labor troubles are aMo operating against coast shipments to the east to a considerable extent Tho foreign trade, while not so much affected by over-production, is largely in the hands of a few m?n and not everyone is getting his share of the trade. The dullness of the local, San J''raisiscd, market, is caused purely and simply by over-production. A bird dog whose owner is unknown was run over by a train yesterday morn ing and killed. The dog was crossing the railroad track near the Schmidt cold-storage plant and was unable to g:,t out of the way of the engine, which crushed out Its life instantly.
