Greatest Of Enitipments Sixty Thousand Visitors Are In San Francisco to Attend G. A. R. Reunion; San Francisco, Aug. 19. What, with receptions and entertainments of all kinds, the visiting members of the G. A. R. are having a most enjoyable time in the city. The old veterans have been extended a hearty welcome on all sides and everywhere they have hospi tality exten led to them. The California posts provides fruits and flowers in lavish abundance and open house is the order of the day in all the local head quarters. Train after train still add Its compli ment to the army of veterans already marshalled here and the encampment now begins to assume the proportions of the largest ever held In the history of the organization. The arrivals now are computed at 21,000 peopjle from Eastern points with fully 35,000 persons in addition from California points. .... For the next few days excursions have been arranged to carry the veter ans to different joints of interest In the interior and all the leading cities have made arrangements to give them an ap proppati reception. Frazee, a member of the Alpine Employment Agency, No. 162 First street, Portland, was in the city yester day and took part in the Woodmen ex ercises as a member of the Portland tamp. Mr. Frazee claims that the story told by William Henlge to the deputy district attorney here a few days ago Is very misleading and In fact, untrue. The Alpine Employment Agency, so Mr' Frazee stages, collected of young Henlge a fee of $1 but gave him a rail road ticket from Portland to Astoria which cost 2.
