Returning from the house after the
shooting Krlsselmeyer was surrounded
by neighbors who beat him down. Ho
escaped but was again surrounded, a

revolver in hand, kept the mob buck
until aid was secured. The crowd fol
lowed, however, until the prisoner had
been safely locked up.
