There will be a slight change in the
program at the Unique theater, com
mencing Saturday matinee which will
continue until Monday afternoon, when
en entire change will take place. Mr.
La Croix, the tramp Juggler, who has
been engaged at the Unique for the
past two weeks, leaves Saturday morn
ing for Boston, to play the Keith and
Proctor circuit, coi sldered by theatri
cal people to be the best vaudeville
theaters in the country. Mr. La Croix
will Join his wife in Portland, and from
now on they will be known as the
"Marvelous La Crolxs." . The attrnc
t.'on, which will be put on in place of
Mr. La Croix, will be & farce comedy
act presented by Leon Erroll, enti
tled: "The Man That Looks Like Me,"
or "Who Is Who." This act will run
only Saturday and Sunday. An entire
new act will be put on for the new pro
gram Monday.

The famous author, humorist, lectur
er, Bob. Uurdette, and his hardly less
attractive wife, Mrs. dura B. Uur
dette, will both appear on the program.
"Woman's day" will lie July 21. Mrs.
Clura B. Burdette, who Is first vlcc
presSdcnt of the National Federation
of Women's clubs, will speuk In the
' afternoon on the "Cure of the Junior
Cltlsen." There will bo a dully Win
men's Parliament from July 16 to July

dette. The Women's clubs of Oregon
are taking great Interest In the Chau
tauqua this year, and a host of them
will attend.
Karl Gernmlne. the magician, who
has appeared at the mother Chautau
qua, will appear in two special enter
tainments. On Friday and Saturday, July 24 and
25, the Chautauqua have Hon. Champ
Clark, the great congressman from
Missouri, as a stellar attraction. He
Is a splendid orator and has a national
reputation as a wit and humorist.
