Judge F. J. Taylor was yesterday
appointed administrator of the estate
of the late Andrew J. Johnson. The
worldly wealth of Mr. Johnson amount
ed to less than 13000 and this will go to
his brothers, G. A. Johnson of San
Francisco and C. A. Johnson of Los
Gatos, Calif., and to Mrs. Ole Erlckson
of this city.

morning at Griffin's book store.
The increase in acreage planted in
hops In Oregon this year is estimated
at 2500 acres, with prospects for about
the same increase next year. Among
the largest hopyards in Oregon are 75
acres on the Hawthorne farm operated
by Mr Cate, and 100 acres on the Witch
Hazel farm which A. J. Ray of Port
land bought this spring and has just
finished planting. Both these yards are
in Washington county.
