The Alger Logging company is mak
ing good progress with its new logging
road, now building at Skamokawa.
Three hundred tons of rails have been
received for the road, which will tap
a fine bodyof timber, requiring a num
ber of years for Its marketing.
The steambarge Eugene finished de
livering about 250 cords of wood at the
Packers' cold storage plant and left
up tor Portland last evening. This
plant has been lately enlarged, rt ar
ranged and otherwise made ready to
receive fish on the opening of the
season.
