At the hospitals, the Injured were reported as being In a fair way to ward recovery with the exception of Mortimer Butler, who became uncon scious after the amputation of one of his legs and is not expected to recover; and Frank Leisten, one of the men engaged tn setting off the flreworts. whose death is probable. CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER Man Who Had Charge of Explosives Has Hearing. NEW YORK. Nov. 6. The coroner held John Craig In 118.000 bail on a charge of manslaughter In the first de gree. Craig, it is alleged, was in charge of the explosives at the time of the accident last night when 12 people . were killed and 80 were Injured. Two boys were carrying boxes of ex plosives and were sent to the house of detrition by the coroner as witnesses. All the rest of the 10 prisoners were dischnrKed. KILLED THEIR FATHER THREE NEBRASKA CHILDREN SHOT MIM AND THEN BURNED HIS BODY. COLUMBUS, Neb., Nov. 5.-Three children, the oldest of whom is 14 years old, are under arrest near Uump'.ir?ys for killing their father, Gerhard I.'or chers, a farmer, and burning his tody. Borchers was killed, according to a statement alleged to have been made to the sheriff by Herman, his 14-year-old son, who used a shotgun, which be had purchased for the purpose. Then, with the help of two brothers, August, aged 10, and John, aged 8 years, Hfr man dragged the body to a straw tack and set fire to It. ' Herman, who Is said to have fired the gun that killed his father, impli cates the younger brothers equally with himself, while they put the blame on him. The only motive for the crime given Is that the father, who was a widower, had not treated tlem kindly. Neighbors say they knew cf no mistreatment. MINERS ARE KLLED. Four fatal accidents have oc curred In the Wyoming region within H hours. James Boyle was killed by a fall of coal in the Conyngham mine. Allen McFarland, mining man. Red Mountain, badly hurut in back nnd hip. D. L, Hancock, Milwaukee, shoulder and hips injured. Tim Munlm, leg brokn and back hurt, he?d cut. John Skell. badly bruised. Rodney Mason, head, face and hand lacerated, badly hurt. Walter Foley, bark injured, bund crushed and face cut. George Ross, wife snd son, seriously lacerated and Vulsed. The driver attribute the accident to the slipping of the brakes and an un ruly hurw. COMPLAINT IS PRESENTED. Hearts' Scheme for Suppression of Trusts Started at Washington. WASHINGTON. Nov. S.-The com plaint of William R. Hearst of New York, against the anthracite coal ear ning railroads charging that the lat ters' rate for transportation of coal from the anthracite field to New Eng land, New York, Maryland and the Dis trict of Columbia are unreasonable and unjust, was tiled with the Inter State commerce commission. It Is alleged that the Lehigh Co. of New Jeisty, the Delaware, Lackawana and the Western and Erie of New York and the Susquehana, Western, Philadelphia and Reading roads have entered Into a pool Ing agreement.
