BAN KKANCl.SCO, Aug. 2S.-AI-though
the heirs of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Charles fair have reached an
agreement, it will be six months or a
year before all the legal arrangements
can be perfected. The wills left by(
the decendents will be filed in the near
future for probate. Then executors
will have to be appointed and there
are a number of minor heirs whose
Interests will have'to be looked after.
There will be no contest, however,
over the estate, as the Fair children,
Mrs. Hannah A. Nelson, Abraham
Kelson, Charles Smith, and the oth
er heirs, desire to avoid all litigation.
All the terma of the adjustment will
not be made public, but the attorneys

HALF MILLION THE SUM.

Mr Fair's Relatives.
CHICAGO, Aug. 28.-A special to
the Record-Herald from San Francis
co says:
There will be no contest over the

wife by Mrs. Fair's relatives. Mrs.
Harriet E. Nelson, mother of Mrs.
Fair, on behalf of herself and her
children, has relinquished for a sum
in cash all the claims to the estates
of Fair or his wife. The attorneys in
terested would not disclose the amount 1
paid, but it is said to be (500.000.
By the terms of the compact the
estate of Charles L. Fair goes entirely
to hi relatives, Mrs. Herman Oelrlchs
and Mrs. W. K. Vanderbilt, Jr., who
will also, receive all Mrs. Fair's prop
erty. The only possibility of any fu
ture trouble lies in the discovery of a
late will of Charles Fair, leaving
property to others than his 'kinfolk
and his wife. That such a will exists
or did exist at one time is stated In
positive terms by several of Fair's
friends who find they have received
no part of his millions.
