Astoria must advertise if she ex
pects to keep pace with her competl- f
tors in the Nortwest Seattle, Tacoimt, 1
Everett, Spokane and other Kss im
portant cities are keeping their names
constantly before the people of the
Eastern states. For montas the New

contained columns about these enter
prising cities. The Commercial is a

advertised the Washington towns as
no other Western communities have
before been advertised. This constant
advertising has had Us beneficial ef
fects, for most of the immigrants who
are to come to the coast this fall are

too plain. That the commercial bodies
