Again .s few women came near los ing their lives at Oearhart beach. IVopk sar they ousjhi l have been more cautious -when attempting to ride the breakers. No doubt this is true, but that leaves no room or reason why a life line sdiould not be provided along all beaches where the people come to enjoy the ocean. Knough of these narrow escapes m the lesson ought to have be?n will enough learn ed to causa the er,?ction of a life line at once. RELIC HCNTEK AND CRIMINAL. The relic " hunter Is closely allied to the criminal, says the Oregonian. The tarage In him lies close to the sur face, and breaks out boldly upon oc casion. Whether defacing a historic monument In order to carry away a chip, struggling to secure a bit of rope with which a murderer was hanged, or stripping the no longer resisting body of an outlaw to nakedness and purceling out his filthy, tattered gar ments, the close kinship between the savage and the 'IvilU'J i. an is re vealed. The only explanation of the conduct of the good citizens of Lincoln County is in denuding the body of the dead outlaw, and all but scalping him in order to obtain "relics," is that they were drunken with exultation over his capture an explanation that is not an excuse. . It's staying power which carries many a ntnuer to victory. It's like that in business. Many a man starts off in the race for business success with a burst of speed which scents to assure victory. Presently 1 begins to fuller and at last he falls ntul fails. The cause? Generally "stomach trouble." No man is stronger than his stomach. Business haste loads to careless and irregular eat ing. The stomach and other organs of digestion and nutrition become diseased. The body is inadequately nourished aud so grows wealc. Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery cures diseases of the stomach aud other organs of digestion and nutrition. It strengthens the stomach and so strength ens the whole body which depends on the stomach for the nivurishment from which strength is made. There is no alcohol in " Golden Medical Discovery," and it is entirely free from opium, cocaine and all other narcotics. Accept no substitute for the " Discov ery." There is no medicine "just s good" for diseases of the stomach an.i allied organs. "Your 'GoMen Metlicnl Diwnvtrv' han per firmed a womlirrfut cunr." i.rit 'Mr. M. H. TREAT YOt'P. KIDNEYS FOR RHEUMATISM. When you are suffering from rheu matism, the kidneys must be attend ed to at once so that they will elimi nate the uric acid from thte blood. Foley's Kidney Cure is the most ef fective remedy for this purpose. It. T.
