Several policemen were on hand, as
trouble was feared, but the strikers

EXPEDITION DELATED.
WASHINGTON. April 2S.-The war
. department has instructed General
Chaffee to delay the departure of the
proposed expedition Into Mindanao
until after the receipt of further direc
tions from Washington. The president
desires to exhaust all other means of
effecting capture of Moros who mur
ered American soldiers before des
patching an armed expedition for that
purpose.

SEATTLE April M.-The United
States revenue cutter Bear arrived In
port this morning from San Francheo
on her voyage to Arctic waters, where
she will serve the government on many
missions, until iate next fall.
