ST. LOUIS, Aug. 13. A pecia! to the
Po'-DI:-atch from Den!on. Texas,
says:
Missouri. Kansas & Texas passenger
train No. 3, south-bound, wa held up
and robbed a: Canary switch, L T., tbi
morning at 1:30 o'clock by two men
who go: on the train at Atoka. When
two mile north Of Caney they crawled
over the tenler with pistol In hands.
covered the engineer and fireman and
commanded them to stop at Caney wat
er tank. There the men were Joined by
three others, and at this Juncture a
fusiliade of shots alarmed the crew tnd
passengers.
Postal Clerk Tulley was compelled to
go through, the train, carrying the
sacks. In which valuables were thrown.
Every passenger was robbed, and then
:he robber turned their attention to the
express car. Both safes were blown
open with dynamite and the contents se
cured. The amount stolen Is not yet
known, although the robbers got f-ome
valuable Jewels. They gave a dlam-md
ring and a shirt stud to Engineer Lan
ham. After the work was done the robber
who seemed to enjoy the situation,
laughed over the matter. The whole af
fair wa carried out without a hitch
and It Is believed the men have had
experience In this Une of business be
fore. While the robbery was going on the
operator at Caney. hearing the shots,
advised the Denlson office that the train
was being rohbed. After holding the

THE ROBBERS CAPTURED.
Bloodhoauds Were Put on Their Tracks
and Followed Thein Up.
DENISON. Tex., Aug. 13.-The fol
lowing men have been arrested on a
charge of having committed the rob
bery a Caney Swl'ch:
E. C. Ri:hmond, Bob Alford, George
Brown, lonn Gibson, Tom Edwards and
Tack Barr.
The men were arrested at Caney and
taken to Anoka this morning. Two
hours after the robb?ry was committed
bloodhounds had trailed these men to
:heir homos. There were found three
masks, and in the firebox of a cook
stove when the arrests were made the
shoes of the men arrested. The tracks
were measured und fitted the shoes ex
actly. This afternoon the men were giv
en a hearing at Atoka and in default
of $5000 ball, were remanded to Jail.
There were two men connected with
the robbery who rode away on horse
back and have not yet been captured.
HAVE OBTAINED THE CONTRACT.
LONDON. Aug. 13. A dispatch to the
Dally Mall from Geneva says electrical
engineers of Zururlch have obtained the
contract to supply all the machinery
for the new electric Installation of Nic
aragua Falls. It will consist of eleven
turbines of 53,000 horse-power each.
