tenburg has visited 130 of the T9
lodges in Oregon and says Ashland's
lodge ia in the top row for efficiency.
Social features followed business.
The banquet hall was a bower of
beauty, with decorations in keeping
with the club's colors. Favors were
cocked lif ts and shamrocks. The af
fair was one of the most pleasant of
recent months in lodge circles.

Beginning Sunday evening the
First Brethren church will engage in
a series of evangelistic service. We
have recently purchased the church
property at the corner of Fifth and
Main streets, so are here to stay. We

Monday afternoon "with quite a good
attendance and Interesting program.
There was quite an interesting dis
cussion of the new name for the East
Side school, but no satisfactory con
clusion was reached.
Miss Moffett was present and spoke
of the Greek pageant to bo given at
the. Inst of school, urging parents and
teachers to help make it a success.
"Our Country's Flag" was sung
nicely by about twenty girls and boys
from the fifth grade
A splendid talk was given on the
subject, "Reading in tho Home," by
Mrs. Honry Cnley, and a violin solo
by Mario Holmes.
Refreshments were served to the
ladles by Mesdames Silver and Glen
dennlng. An announcement was made that
Dr. Sheldon, who Is at present in
Kansas City, will bo in Ashland Mon
day next and will speak at the library
at 7:30 Monday evening. Mr. Shel
don will give a school talk in the in
