Concert Tour.
The Misses Bertha Calkins, Janet
Creekpauni and Alene . Bomar left
Tuesday for Weed, where they staged
a concert. Tonight they are to ap
pear at Montague. This trio of tal
ented young ladles is much. In demand
and have filled several engagements
lately. Mfss Calkins appears in read
ings, Miss Creekpauni in solos, and
Miss Bomar piano and violin.
Open House at (luU.
Friday afternoon from 2:30 to 5

at their club home on the hill. Every

Mrs. Roberta Everton is in Port
land as a delegate to the grand chap
ter, Eastern Star. Mrs. Everton is
worthy matron of the local lodge.
Presbyterian Children's Day.
The Children's Day exercises of the
Presbyterian church will be held at
the Sunday school hour, 9:45, instead

annual convocation of the grand
chapter, Royal Arch Masons of Ore

munication of the grand lodge, A. F
and A. M. of Oregon. Meetings will
be held at the Masonic temple every

In which Mrs. A. H. Davenhlll,
dressed In conventional black, took
the part of the bridegroom. Miss
Hurley, attired in white with a bridal
veil which bore some resemblance to
a window curtain, and with a wealth
of mock orange blossoms in her hair
and carrying a bouquet of the same,
made a charming bride. Mrs. Wil
liam Glenn officiated as minister and
performed the ceremony with much
solemnity on her part and much hi
larity on the part of the guests.
After the ceremony the bridal bou
quet was caught by Miss Elizabeth
Lennox and toasts were drunk to the I
health and happiness of the bride and
groom.

Owing to Its 'jeing vacation and
very near the Chautauqua season, the
Ashland Dramatic Club will postpone
their third number of the lyceum
course until fall, the date to be an
nounced later.
Medford Elks to Colestln.
The Medford Elks will stage their
annual picnic at Colestln on Sunday,
August 1. Special trains will be run.
A number of local Elks will no doubt
attend.
Chicken Dinner and Pleasant After
noon. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Bunnell were
pleasantly entertained by Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Powell at their cozy
home on Iowa "treet. A call to thp
dining room revealed one of Mrs.
Powell's chicken dinners for which
she is famous. In due time the gen
tlemen took a stroll down town, while
the ladies enjoyed a pleasant after
noon with conversation and candy.
The time passed far too quickly. The
guests departed with the one thought
uppermost in their minds, that It was
good to have been there.

The gathering was held this year at
the home of Mrs. A. D. Barr at 710

ate the ninety-first anniversary.
Grandma Farrer's picture was taken
by Miss Anderson. Many bouquets
and birthday cards were showered
upon the guest of honor. Refresh
ments were served and a good time
enjoyed by all.
