The exact number ot marriages recorded was not reported, but there have been many and will be several more during this month. Claud Coon, who with Ma wlfa unit son and Fred Trammel visited in the city last week, made the trip on through to Portland without trouble. The trip from Klamath Falls to Port land was made in three days, the party traveling on a motorcycle with side-car attachment. According to the Medford Sun. many men are walking to Crater Lake with the expectation of securing work on the roads, only to have to retrace their steps. Road work will not commence at the lake until July, the work now being done being pre liminary engineering. Local and valley au tolsts are beginning to wake up to the beauties of the drive. The new rule which makes It compulsory that autos shall all go over the drive In one direction, namely, up the canyon and back over the drive, is being al most universally observed. "Gravy" Plymate returned last Thursday from Weed, where he played ball with the Weed team against Sisson last Sunday. He says Kenneth Lilly is getting along finely over there and that the lumber town G-A Steel Cut Coffee was the first to cell at 30c. The rain of the last few days was welcomed by the fruit growers and gardeners and did little harm to the hay crop. The three hot days the first of last week ripened the cher ries to a considerable extent and the cool weather prevented them' from ripening too much before they were fully matured. However, every cloud casts a shadow, and several picnics were postponed on account of the wetness. Owing to Inability to make train connections from Klamath Falls to Grants Pass in time for scheduled appearances in the latter city, a num ber of Chautauqua entertainers on the Ellison-White circuit who ap peared in Klamath Falls last week were brought over by auto over Green Springs mountain and down the val ley. The Green Springs mountain road Is in fairly good shape and many cars pass over it daily. Julv 4 will innn ha hora T.ol Orres measure you for that new suit.
