Eenworthy Plays
At Lyric This Week
You never get something for noth
ing, but the nearest thing to it will
be the shows given at the Lyric Thea
tre starting Thursday night when the
Kenworthy Players open an engage
ment of seven nights, presenting high
class tabloid plays staged complete
with all their own scenery.
A company of five capable people,
consisting of Milburn Kenworthy,
Helen Duffy, Zoe Dates, Edw. Fitz
Gerald and Armine Lamb, in con
dendensed versions of popular plays.
This is a novel way of offering up-to-date
plays in addition to pictures, and
one that is a big success In the east.
Each play is complete and carries
the entire plot without any long-drawn-out
scenes or situations and
enables the show to be offered at
small prices. For the opening night
the most succesful comedy ever writ
ten, "Charley's Aunt," will be pre
sented. This play is In one big act
running forty minutes and Is a
scream from the top to the finish. It
Is one that Is always funny, but in
the hands of capable people Is a great
6how. Pictures will also be shown,
making a big double show at the
small prices of 10 and 20 cents for
any seat. Be sure to avail yourself

Do Not Graze Cows
Along Boulevard
Owners of cattle who have their
eyes on the Boulevard as a likely
looking place for turning their cows
loose to browse had best seek else
where for grazing grounds. The chief
of police has been instructed to arrest
the owners of any cows which are
found grazing on the Boulevard. This
action comes as a result of the break
ing down of young trees and destruc
tion of foliage. There is an ordinance
which covers this and the council will
eee to it that it will be enforced.
According to Carey S. Hill, special
commissioner to the Panama-Pacific
exposition from Oregon, the Rogue
River Valley's special day at the ex
position will come between August 5
and 15. The exact date and arrange
ments will be announced later.

Batturs of the Southern Pacific Com
pany spent Monday in the city going
over the springs situation with the
springs water commission. It Is the
hope of the commission to induce the
railroads to provide for a thirty-day
stopover ticket for Ashland after the
first of July and Mr. Batturs was here
looking into our department plans
and work to determine the feasibility
of the proposal as well as to get first
hand knowledge of our devedopment
in order to be better able-to interest
outside capital In our hotel and other
necessary accessories to the mineral
springs enterprise. This was Mr. Bat
turs' first trip here and he was deeply
impressed with our mineral waters.
