Presbyterian Church Endeavor Social.
The young people of the Presby
terian Christian Endeavor spent a
very enjoyable evening on Friday last
at the Heer residence on High street.
After a short and enthusiastic busi
ness meeting a few original stunts
made up the program. An im
promptu mock wedding with George
Icenhower as groom and Miss Bertha
Browell as "blushing bride was the
first number. Miss Sylvia Brown of
ficiated. Winn Hayes gave the bride
away and Victor Flfnt acted as best
man. Misse3 Priscilla Carnahan,
Fern O'Donahue and Minnie Rickman
were bridesmaids. The company then
attempted to save the situation by in
stituting a divorce case for the bride
on the grounds of non-support and
inhuman treatment, in which an
Easter hat held a prominent part.
The case was tried hpfnm Tno-o
" n "
Hayes with Miss Brower as sheriff
and Rev. Sylvia Brown as chief wit
ness. However, the legal logic and
masterful oratory of Victor Flint for j
the plaintiff and Winning for the de
fendant went for naught when the
chief actors in this tragedy settled
the case with many tears. With a
few well-chosen words from the court
on the duties of married life and a
promise from the reunited couple to
be more mutually considerate here
after, the court was closed. After
refreshments of doughnuts and cof
fee a game of forfeits closed a most
pleasant evening.
