Jackson Pioneer Is Laid to Rest WINSOME UNIVERSALE Cut Prices on ev ery Range during March. The funeral services for the late C. C. Heekman, who died at his home in Jacksonville Monday, were held Thuriiday afternoon. Scores of friends from all parts of the country gathered to pay the final tribute to the memory of the beloved pioneer. The services were under the auspices of Warren lodge No. 10, A. P. & A. M. The Hev. Shields officiated. Out of respect to the memory of the de parted pioneer the banks of the coun ty closed. Court was adjourned at noon. The Medford, Ashland and Central Point Masons attended in a body. The body lay in state at the Jack sonville Masonic hall from noon till 2 o'clock, and was viewed by hun dreds of lamenting friends. Kach brought a wreath of flowers and when the time arrived for the de parture for the cemetery there were many who were unable to secure a plat e in the line to get a last view. Mr. Beekman was one of Oregon's most honorable and most picturesque citizens and his death caused much sorrow throughout the entire state. The following acted as honorary pallbearers: J. S. Howard, Medford; E. V. Carter, Ashland; Judge J. R. Neil, Jacksonville; Judge F. L. Tou Velle, Jacksonville; Henry Dox, Jack sonville; W. II. Gore, MeJford; Evan fieames, Medford; George V. Dunn, Ashland. The active pallbearers were: Wm, Greaves, Jacksonville; James Crone miller, Jacksonville; Emil Dritt, Jacksonville; John Miller, Jackson ville; John Orth, Medford; Gus New- jbury, Medford; C.
