Emmet Beeson is now driving his car for the first time this wintef. Joe Kerby and family and Charles Kerby and family are going to move to Castella, Cal., this week. R. J. Luke has purchased a new water tank to be put on his ranch near Frederick, from the Talent Hardware Company. Miss Livonia Mason of Central Point is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mason for an indefinite time. Stewart Patterson of Medford spent all day on his ranch near Tal ent Tuesday. The Methodist church is commenc ing to prepare for their Easter pro gram. They have decided that the program will consist mostly of music this year. . - Marion Tryer did some repair work on Stewart Patterson's ranch Tues day. The Talent orchestra met Sunday afternoon in the town hall. They have decided to put on a concert in about a week and a half. They will practice again Wednesday evening. Charles Chapman spent Sunday evening in Ashland. H. O. Simpson 6pent Saturday evening and Sunday in Medford with friends. Mrs. Nettie Hopkins spent Tuesday afternoon in Ashland, shopping. Mr. Davis wants a contractor to take a contract for a six-room house, each room to be 16x24. George Jeffery, who has been on the sick list for a number of days, is rapidly recovering. Those present were: Angle Bell, Mrs. Barrett, Lavonia Mason, Linnie Hanscom, Grace ilanscom, Winifred Jones, Viola Jones, Nona Pace, Ted j Seaman, Floyd Bell, George Gal braith, Lee Hart, Mr. Barrett, Mr. Baker, Henry Puce and Jack Vance. Games were played and refreshments served. A very nice time was re ported. ' Joe Smith and family moved over on the llorton place. A creamery meeting was held at the bank Monday afternoon. It was in session for throe hours, but noth ing definite was decided. Mr. and Mrs. Robert PolesH wer, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poleski, the foreman of the Dale ranch on Anderson creek, Sunday. Mrs. Dick Hale returned to he' mountain home on Anderson c-eek after spending five days in Medford Sam Murphy of Frederick was vis iting Talent Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Ware of Wagner creek came to Talent Monday and reported that their son Robert is re covering. He had a narrow escape from being poisoned by gasoline fumes. Mr. Hazelwood left for Holt, Cal for an extended trip Tuesday. Mrs. Minnie Way and Miss Hattie Dayton spent Monday In Ashland Rev. Van Fossen visited Mrs. Way and Miss Dayton Monday evening, Those who have visited the Bell House the past few days are: W. A. Bullock of Salem, Ore.; John Bacon and I. P. Near ly all the band boys were present, and they all formed in line and pa raded around the main (streets of Talent. C. M. Thomas led the pro cession. C. D. Burgan was drum ma jor, C. W. Bender and Bryon Works were escorts. After the parade was over they all went to the city hall and Mayor Bree6e gave a speech and the band rendered two or three se lections. Talent surely got rid of a lot of tin cans that were laying around the back yards, and it is thought that there will be many leanup days in the future. Mrs. Mary Works will soon leave the N. O. Powers house and go into her own new cottage, which is al most completed. 1 Charles Kerby and wife and little daughter came down from Wagner creek Wednesday to spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kerby. Dan Holdridge, who makes his home with Mr. and Mrs. Mathewson, is very ill. His many friends hope for his speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Moore and Mrs. Moore's father, Mr. Churchill, of Medford, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Mathewson Sun day. They were old acquaintances in New York state. G. Ji. Weatherby and family are now living in one of the Uailey houses on Anderson creek. Mr. Weatherby is to run the ranch for Mr. Bailey. 1 John Roblson visited Jacksonville on important business Saturday. Mrs. J. H. Knighten of Wagner creek visited Talent and Phoenix Sat urday. The Ames family and Mrs. C. D. Burgan motored to .Medford Satur day 'morning. - Little Miss Dorothy Nicewarner spent Saturday lu Phoenix visiting her cousin. William Umerhoffer and son spent Saturday and Sunday in Medford. Mrs. Clara Hartley Is able to be about again after a three weeks' ill ness of scarlet fever. Mrs. Frank Oatman and family spent Saturday in Medford. Miss Leola Trueblood spent Satur day afternoon in Talent. Jim MacDonald and E. F, Jacobs went on business to Medford Satur day. Mrs. E. B.
