Newspaper Change, William H. Parry haring sold the In dependence HTett Side to Mr. Brooks' concludes liis editorial career in that vil lage in the following strain: We leave these diggings with a clear concience and our wash bill paid. We might have tar ried longer but there was a few tallow dips who did not like us. This feeling, however, was mutual, with a small majori ty in favor of the faded blossom writing tliis i>oem in blank verse. We have been here just twenty-two months and go awav better heeled than when we struck the town. We’ve got three congressional records and the ague. We are now going to Ohio to l'é corné great. For the unvarying kindness of our editorial brethren we feel very grateful and kuiiily tlmnk them for favors shown. Had we been proficient in speaking the “Siwash” language, re frained from mentioning ■•sewing circles" and bowed to the scepter of a few would- be city magnates, we might have made lees money and more friends; but there is no use to monkey around and paw the earth of regret and wipe our nose on our coat sleeve, as the ¡»oet has so truthfully and prettily said. Bo good bye, gentle reader, we have slipped from the traces; we thank you and say, “Farewell." A Boston -mrgeon recently opened the abdomeu of u patient, drew up and cut open his stomach, took therefrom a set of false teeth which had lain there for a year, and sewed np the aperture with tine silk, the operation l>eing completed in forty-fit e minutes. A Portland pajier of one day last week says: “A naturalist who arrived in Port land yesterday, had a ¡are and beautiful snake, which he had captured alive and at a considerable expense.
